Mary Krensavage is a certified Yoga and Buddhist Meditation teacher and nationally licensed Occupational Therapist. Her first offering in the 80’s brought yoga to the town of Brookhaven senior centers to support aging gracefully. She went on to lead classes, workshops and retreats in NYC and internationally, including at Menla Tibet House NY, project of Tibet House US – the Dalai Lama’s cultural center in North America.
A devoted student of spiritual wisdom, Mary studied and recevied certifations with Sri Dharma Mittra (Dharma Yoga), Dr. Joseph Michael Levry Guru Naam (Naam Yoga/Universal Kabbalah), Dr. Rose Erin Vaughan (Science of Self Meridian Yoga) and David Nichtern (Dharma Moon Tibet House Meditation). She has a masters degree in Occupational Therapy with specialties in sensory integration and physical dysfunction, a post masters in Gerontology with a specialty in Trauma Recovery, and a certification in Buddhism Through Its Scriptures from Harvard University Online. She pursued a dual career instructing yoga and meditation and treating children with sensory integration deficits and educating schools about intervention.
Mary believes in the transformative power of Yoga and Buddhism, seeing both as pathways to mindfulness, interconnectedness, and peace. Known for her inspirational teachings and Make-a-Difference yoga charity events that build yoga sangha and support communities in need, she founded The Yogi Table in 1990. She published meditation articles for New York Health & Racquet's Mind Body online platform to pass on yoga practices that cultivate space to realize innate joy. The combination of Mary's medical and yoga and meditation training give her students an experience based in alignment and spirituality. Her vibrant spirit and gratitude infuse her teachings and approach to life. She is grateful for her family and two sons, three American Cocker Spaniels, her spiritual community, and the teachers that inspire her to learn and serve others.
